Description

X-Neu5Ac (sodium) is a substrate for chromogenic assay of neuraminidase activity in bacterial expression systems; with a Km of 0.89 mM for neuraminidase.

IC50 & Target

Km: 0.89 mM (neuraminidase)[1]

In Vitro

X-Neu5Ac (sodium) is a good substrate (Km=0.89 mM) for neuraminidase and is quite stable under identical conditions in the absence of enzyme[1]. Staining with X-Neu5Ac and FRV LB is specific for sialidase and useful for quantitative analysis of sialidase activities[2].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
