Gene Ontology (GO)

Gene ontology analysis is a bioinformatics method used to analyze gene functions and biological processes. It uses the Gene Ontology (GO) database to classify genes according to their molecular functions, cellular components and biological processes. Through gene ontology analysis, the functions and interrelationships of genes in biological systems can be revealed, which helps to understand the overall picture of biology. Common gene ontology analysis tools include DAVID, GOstat, GSEA, etc. This method is widely used in gene expression analysis, proteomics and systems biology research.
