E.coli Cell-Free Expression System

E.coli Cell-Free Protein Synthesis System (CFPS) is a new protein preparation system that is different from traditional expression systems. It is a transcription/translation system based on extracts. By adding exogenous target mRNA or DNA templates, utilizing ribosomes, RNA polymerase, ATP and other substances in the cell extracts, and continuously adding some raw materials needed for protein synthesis such as amino acids, nucleotides, salt ions, etc., it synthesizes proteins in an extracellular environment without relying on living cells.

Yeast Expression System

The yeast expression system mainly uses Saccharomyces cerevisiae and Pichia pastoris. Pichia pastoris is a rapidly developing and widely used eukaryotic expression system. It has two main advantages. On one hand, protein post-translational modifications can occur in yeast, which has a lower cost than mammalian expression systems. On the other hand, the heterologous proteins it expresses are first produced inside yeast cells and then secreted into the extracellular matrix through the yeast's secretion system, resulting in high-purity proteins that have undergone folding and modifications.

Mammalian Expression System
